Job summary

You will serve as a PRODUCTION SCHEDULER in the Project Support Team (TRF-305), Repair Department (TRF-300) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.

Major duties

You will review technical and industrial requirements for the repair, refurbishment, modification, and material support of items ranging from general consumption to specialized technical use. You will perform work which involves knowledge of software principles and methods for managed programs, system development processes relevant to managed programs, and technical documentation procedures. You will apply advanced techniques using the entire Microsoft Suite including the enhanced capabilities of Microsoft Project, Microsoft Project Server, Visual Basic and other programming/data management applications. You will develop and administer all software and hardware which supports integration and interfaces to CCS and hull, mechanical, and electrical systems.

Qualification

GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying a comprehensive knowledge of submarine maintenance operations to ensure efficient execution of maintenance tasks. Experience demonstrating a detailed and specific understanding of all aspects of trade operations in the context of submarine systems and equipment. Experience providing sequence, scheduling, and testing requirements in the manufacturing, repair, and maintenance of equipment and systems for hull, mechanical, and electrical (HM&E), electronic, and preservation services. Experience applying expertise in temporary services, paint and preservation, calibration, and procedures for the Command and Control System (CCS) and Non-Propulsion Electronics Systems (NPES). Experience performing work that involves knowledge of software principles and methods for managed programs, as well as system development processes relevant to those programs. Experience adhering to technical documentation procedures to actively contribute to testing and implementing software for less complex programs. Experience applying advanced techniques using the full Microsoft Suite, including Microsoft Project, Microsoft Project Server, Visual Basic, and other programming/data management applications to develop solutions in project management, data management, reporting, and presentations. Education

Substitution of Education: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR Possession of an LL.M. that is related to this position being filled
