Job summary

You will serve as a Procurement Technician (OA) in the Industry Management Department, Code 400 of PSNS and IMF. Salary Range: GS-06: $49,400 - $64,222 GS-07: $54,896 - $71,366

Major duties

You will prepare, control and review procurement documents and reports. You will contact vendors to get status of orders and expedite deliveries. You will maintain various procurement files. You will resolve a variety of shipment, payment, or other discrepancies. You will periodically perform quality and damage inspections on received furnishings, other property, and equipment. You will track the status of requisitions, contracts, and others using automated or manual files and through contacts with vendors, supply technicians, inventory mangers, etc. You will sort, compile, type, and distribute requisitions, contracts, and orders.

Qualification

GS-07: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Reviewing changes to procurement regulations and policies and coordinates with the supervisor/specialist on any required changes to solicitations or contracts, 2) Tracking orders and generating a variety of reports by use of automated procurement systems, 3) Performing clerical duties and uses word processing and other types of software (spreadsheets, databases, etc.) to process and produce a wide range of document, 4) Collecting vendor quotes/proposals according to competitive requirements and abstracts bid information, and 5) Resolving customer or vendor complaints of errors in shipment, payment, and/or contract documentation. GS-06: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing a knowledge of various procurement processing procedures and types of contracts in order to performing a full range of procurement support work in preparing, reviewing procurement documents and reports; contacting vendors/customers; resolving shipments, payments or other discrepancies or performing other work in support of procurement programs and operations. Examples of specialized experience include the following: 1) Performing contract administration for procurement transactions, 2) Preparing contracting documents and correspondence, 3) Reviewing deliverables to ensure compliance with terms and conditions of the contracts, 4) Working with vendors, contractors, or customers to resolve discrepancies with contract related documents, and 5) Assisting in preparing contract files for closeout. Education
