This position is scheduled to transfer to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) in accordance with the provisions of Section 711(b) and 737 of FY 2019/2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Job summary
The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center (AC) serves as the Army's technology leader for armament systems. DEVCOM AC ensures dominance of Army capabilities by researching, developing, integrating and delivering technology-enabled armament solutions to our Warfighters. Armaments Center has a long tradition as the primary research and development center for new and existing armament systems which are in use by U.S. service members around the world.
Major duties
Direct all acquisition activities for a program. Utilize contracting and procurement knowledge to meet mission needs. Develop solutions to broad management/ business problems in which previously established techniques are inadequate. Make recommendations concerning procurement in accordance with organizational goals. Communicate (written and oral) with entities, such as representatives of other functional areas, managers, and representatives of other/higher command, industry and academia concerning acquisition management.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Experience proposing various contract methods for the acquisition of major weapon systems/programs or other procurement actions of the organization 2) Experience managing a contract across the acquisition life cycle within Department of Defense. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DE-02/GS-11). This position is part of the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center (DEVCOM AC) Demo Project. DEVCOM AC is participating in an alternative personnel system known as the Personnel Management Demo Projection. The DE-03 pay band is equivalent to the GS-12 steps 1-10 levels and GS-13 steps 1-10 levels.
