Job summary
You will serve as a Lifting and Handling Deputy Director in the Lifting and Handling Department, Code 700 at PSNS and IMF.
Major duties
You will be responsible to the Lifting and Handling Director for the conduct and quality of all Lifting and Handling Department cognizant daily work, including nuclear, non-nuclear. and refueling. You will monitor and control technical work practices of department personnel. You will maintain adequate numbers of personnel and distribution of these resources within the department and throughout the waterfront to support daily shipyard efforts and goals. You will conduct training of department personnel to ensure needed skills and qualifications are available for assignment. You will manage, direct, monitor, interpret, and seek resolution on all matters pertaining to effective planning, conduct, and cost effectiveness of the Lifting and Handling Department's daily efforts. You will participate fully with the Lifting and Handling Director in providing oversight for the weight handling program and rigging operations. You will develop goals and program plans, oversee and coordinate lifting and handling work, and ensure audits and surveillances are aligned with management identified priorities and training. You will ensure that Navy owned, rented or leased cranes are tested, inspected, and maintained in accordance with all requirements and directives.
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing and overseeing the programmatic aspects of maintenance, repair, overhaul and certification of equipment for industrial operations.
