Major duties

Serves as a Senior Action Officer for J6X Customer Experience Directorate, J6 Information Operations, in support of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). Oversees, prepares and reports daily J6X operational matters to include Situational Awareness and Battle Rhythm to the J6X Director and division managers. Manages, consolidates, and reports the J6 Daily Operations Update (DOU) to the J6 Chief Information Officer (CIO) and J6 HQ staff. Develops, gathers, analyzes, and reports performance metrics and other critical data to identify trends and assess effectiveness to ensure strategic initiatives and activities within the J6X and J6 HQs are meeting performance targets. Plans, schedules, and conducts a variety of IT initiatives in support of J6X operations. Continuously evaluates initiatives and programs to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies. Applies specialized techniques and methods to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of IT programs and operations. Analyzes and evaluates by applying analytical techniques in order to resolve difficult issues and problems with work methods, data management, and operations.

Qualification

To qualify for an IT Operations Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must include: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Experience with laws, regulations, precedents, policy and procedures applicable to functional and administrative areas in contracting, finance, accounting, budget, counsel, and information management. Evaluates initiatives and programs to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies. Experience in analytical techniques to resolve issues with work methods, data management, and operational procedures needed to advise customers on policy, planning and operation processes. B. Education: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
