Major duties
Manage the overall plan for remote hydrometeorological data collection and transfer of the Sacramento District Project's pool, stage, flow, and hydropower data. Monitor hydrologic data, both in person and remotely, and determine current (real time) stream gaging equipment performance, identify system deficiencies and recommend configurations. Perform maintenance on all Sacramento District stream gaging and meteorological equipment. Schedule coverage of stream gage teams for necessary repair, installation, and identifying valuable/necessary training for stream gage personnel. Determine corrective action for data systems failures at field locations and restores system function without guidance from higher authority. Coordinate maintenance of cooperative stream gage sites with representatives of cooperating agencies.
Qualification

To qualify for this position you must meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes designing and maintaining networked systems of remote/automated stream and lake gages, and ensuring data from remote/automated gages are dependably and accurately transmitted.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.
