Job summary

You will serve as a HR ASSISTANT (RECRUITMENT & PLACEMENT/OA) in the CIVILIAN HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICE of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.

Major duties

You will screen applications for a variety of occupations to verify minimum experience and educational requirements. You will maintain documents (e.g., publications, directives, recurring reports, tickler files, correspondence, filing systems) related to human resources functions. You will proofread vacancy announcements for grammar and spelling. You will determine and utilize recruitment sources known to produce qualified candidates.

Qualification

GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing Federal Civilian recruitment and placement duties to include screening applicants for qualifications; performing administrative duties to include creating, copying, editing, storing, and filing memos, letters, and documentation; and tracking the process of recruitment personnel actions electronically. GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing assistance with Federal Civilian recruitment and placement duties to include screening applicants for qualifications; performing administrative duties to include creating, copying, editing, storing, and filing memos, letters, and documentation; and tracking the process of recruitment personnel actions electronically.
