Job summary
You will serve as a DIRECTOR OF THE EXECUTIVE SUPPORT STAFF (Code 1100) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Major duties
You will provide administrative program direction. You will serve as principal advisor to the Shipyard Commander, participating in top management discussions, decisions, and policymaking. You will participate in the development and implementation of long and short-term policies and plans, goals, and objectives for the shipyard. You will develop solutions fo complex shipyard support issues and present recommendations to the shipyard commander. You will exercise fiscal management for the Executive Support Office by monitoring expenditures and reallocating funds based on shifting program needs. You will monitor financial reporting for conformance with shipyard objectives and requirements. You will approve long and short-range work plans, manage organizational and program changes, and exercise discretionary authority to approve and distribute funds of the departments budget.
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience planning and presenting briefings to leaders and dignitaries at various levels. Experience serving in multiple disciplines at Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a senior manager and department/office head sufficient to make recommendations and decisions that directly impact the installation. Experience understanding laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to shipyard operation support. Experience managing shipyard program goals and objectives, sequencing and timing key program events and milestones, and evaluating the worth of process and program development, initiatives, integration, and operation. Experience implementing a mastery of financial management and business practices as related to shipyards and industrial installations.
