About U.S. Army Joint Munitions Command
Tooele Army Depot (TEAD) is an US Army Military Installation located approximately 45 miles West of Salt Lake City, Utah. TEAD is a premier active joint ammunition storage site. TEAD is responsible for shipping, storing, receiving, inspecting, demilitarization, and maintaining training and war reserve conventional ammunition. Tooele’s Ammunition Equipment and Manufacturing Directorate (AEMD) designs and manufacturers ammunition peculiar equipment (APE) used in maintenance and demilitarization of munitions for all the Department of Defense (DoD). The Depot is in Tooele County and surrounded by the communities of Tooele, Grantsville, Stockton, and Rush Valley. The area surrounding the depot is as an urban center for a highly varied productive industrial and agricultural industries.

About the Position: This position is located in the Maintenance and Demil Division of the Letterkenny Munitions Center at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
Major duties
Serve as a working leader of employees accomplishing work in connection with the maintenance, repair, analysis and calibration of electronic test equipment used to perform work on the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) Family of Munitions (MFOM). Ensure needed plans, blueprints, material, tools, and parts are available. Check work in progress and upon completion for compliance with the supervisor's instructions. Troubleshoot, repair, modify, adjust, align, and test the complete MFOM family including various guidance units, control section assemblies, and the electrical interface between the nosecone and control section. Conduct tests to fault isolate failure modes. Test, operate, and repair major components using MFOM peculiar/special test equipment. Decan, disassemble, repair, reassemble, and test solid rocket motors and payload/warhead sections of the MFOM missiles.

I can perform duties involving electronics theory, assembly, installation, and the use of hand and power tools such as test equipment maintenance, trouble shooting, and repair. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Lead or Supervise Ability To Use Hand and Power Tools - Electronics Ingenuity (Ability To Suggest and Apply New Methods) Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Theory of Electronics Trouble shooting (Electronic Equipment) Use of Test Equipment: Electronics PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work assignments require light to moderate physical effort. Frequently handles items weighing from 10 to 40 pounds and occasionally is required to lift items in excess of 45 pounds. Work requires standing, stooping, bending, and lifting in handling, pulling, and pushing of missiles and dollies. Incumbent must pass a physical examination for positions involving hazardous propellants and explosives. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside of shops that are adequately heated, lighted, and ventilated or at sites where weather elements such as heat, cold, or rain are a factor. May be exposed to serious burns or other accidents from working on high voltage electronic equipment and is also subject to possible exposure to radio frequency radiation. Must also wear protective clothing and use safety equipment when handling hazardous materials and explosives. There is a possibility of exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes from spills and/or leaks, and incumbent may be required to wear protective clothing (e.g. rubber boots, coveralls, goggles, aprons, gloves, respirator, etc.).
