About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Science and Technology Directorate, C5 Division, Charlottesville, VA 22911.

Major duties

Serves as an analyst in the C4 Systems and Networks Branch at the National Ground Intelligence Center analyzing foreign developments in advanced communications systems. Performs technical analysis of RF communication systems, networks and technologies like land mobile radio, Project 25, digital military radio (DMR), TETRA and satellite communications. Performs technical analysis of other advanced communications technologies and systems related to military command, control and communication systems. Analyzes critical intelligence issues and trends, develops and utilizes new research methodologies, and refines traditional techniques in order to identify intelligence gaps. Produce targeted Science and Technology (S and T) intelligence reports and briefings to inform decision makers at multiple levels.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GG/GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience applying knowledge of the principles, concepts, and techniques of a complex Science and Technology (S&T) intelligence subject area to produce targeted S&T intelligence projects utilizing innovative analytical methods.
