Major duties
Serves as a deployment coordination specialist for the Combat Support Center (CSC), Force Deployment Team performing a broad range of pre-deployment and deployment actions in support of contingency operations. Serves as technical specialist for the CSC Force Management Team's pre-deployment programs and support operations. Coordinates all CRC pre-deployment dates within specified timeframes. Provides administrative control support to deployed and deploying commanders and teams, issuing all requests for personnel actions, FLSA changes and time off awards. Acts as the central point of authoritative deployment information on administrative policies, procedures, and requirements.
Qualification
To qualify for a Deployment Coordination Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Applying knowledge of contingency operations, policies and concepts, wartime and emergency doctrines, organization and planning systems, Department of Defense (DoD), Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), and Military Services world-wide. Providing advice and guidance on deployment support policies, procedures, and practices and the structure which develops and evaluates comprehensive contingency and emergency wartime support operations. Applying a wide range of travel, finance and medical regulations and practices sufficient to advise, assist, and process civilian employees being deployed world-wide in support of contingency operations. Applying a wide range of HR practices, precedents and case law in bearing on the deployment of civilians overseas to advise, assist, and process civilian employees being deployed world-wide in support of contingency operations.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
