Major duties

Performs preliminary, in-progress, and final technical inspection of assigned construction contract work including the larger and more complex projects. Attends pre-design conferences and reviews proposed scopes of work for constructability. Daily inspects materials, equipment, work methods, practices, and progress. Maintains daily logs of the project, recording facts concerning work activity, workforce, equipment in use, inspection activities, accidents, visitors, weather conditions, and unusual happenings. Coordinates facility access and contractor's schedule with using agency.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Experience in interpreting plans and specifications; AND 2) Inspecting materials and workmanship for various facility systems such as electrical and heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems to ensure adherence to contract and safety requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Facilities Inspection Project Planning, Design, and Construction Quality Assurance Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

Evaluations
