Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a related specialized area or field, or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.



Responsibilities for this Position

As a Technical Writer (Sr Tech Writing Spec)at GDMS you will be working in a team environment to create and validate XML based documentation products for sailors to operate and maintain a complex submarine-based weapon system. The ideal candidate has experience XML based authoring standards such as S1000D and familiarity with complex US Navy strategic deterrent weapon control systems, however, we are willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Authoring documentation for the customer
  • Following related processes and procedures
  • Research, review, and creation of electronic and paper documentation products
  • Using peer review process to ensure materials meet all process and content requirements
  • Meeting schedule constraints
  • Assisting the technical team or, for SP205-Training documentation, training systems engineering with Procedure Validation (PVAL) and Navy Program Management Office (PMO) procedure verification
  • Providing new or changed documentation review content to Program Management (PM)

Workplace Options

This position can be fully on-site or flex (on site 3 days/week)...while on-site, you will be a part of the Pittsfield MA facility.
