Quality Assurance Systems Specialist II in GAC Savannah


Unique Skills:

This position will support the Quality Management System sturcture with a focus on the development and management of technology tools. .

Position Skills Needs:

- Organization based on priority of assignments

- Skills in Excel, Solumina, SAP, and supporting technologies

- Ability to coordinate and structure documentation based on business requirements

- Production emphasis to support internal GAC team

Special Notes:

- This position DOES NOT require an A & P licensce

- This position DOES NOT require Blueprint/Specification knowledge

- This position DOES NOT require sustainability knowledge


Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, aviation sciences, quality systems or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 2 years related technical experience of continually increasing responsibility. Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations is required..

Position Purpose:

In a team oriented environment, performs all tasks in area of responsibility in a timely and efficient manner to support Quality Management System Documentation and electronic systems development compliant with applicable regulatory requirements. Coordinates with functional organizations the documentation and implementation of specific business processes that support the Quality Management System. Coordinates and manages FAA approval of the Quality Management System.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Implements and maintains quality management systems and procedures.
  2. Ensures efficiency and accuracy in the maintenance of quality systems, documented processes and procedures.
  3. Evaluates effectiveness and maintenance of QA documentation databases, creates reports, audits accuracy, interprets results and identifies systems trends and process deficiencies.
  4. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements through the development and application of or record retention requirements.
  5. Works with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Materials and other business units to evaluate processes in support of internal operating procedures to ensure quality systems objectives and requirements are included.
  6. Prepares and delivers management reports and presentations.
  7. Evaluates existing systems for improvement opportunities. Creates process maps, flow charts and systems procedures.
  8. Researches submitted process changes for consistency with existing processes/procedures and compliance to regulatory requirements.

Additional Functions:
  1. Actively supports corporate initiative in resource sustainability and business continuity. .
  2. Promotes, encourages and supports continuous improvement culture. .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. An Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license is may be used in combination with four (4) years of related experience (in addition to the experience requirements below) in lieu of the degree requirement.
  2. ASQ certification (CQE) and/or experience as a FAA recognized airworthiness designee highly preferred.
  3. A&P license preferred.
  4. Comprehensive knowledge of AS 9100 or ISO 9100 is preferred.
  5. Understands and is able to apply and communicate to others: blueprints/specifications, Quality Control System Requirements.
  6. Computer literate-capable of working within the various software applications utilized throughout the corporation.
