Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Management, Aviation Maintenance or related curriculum or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job

. Master's Degree preferred. 6 years managerial experience with accountability and ownership of employee relations activities, including but not limited to; writing and delivering performance reviews, making hiring and termination recommendations, making compensation recommendations, driving employee development, etc. in a technically related role (i.e. aviation maintenance, general manufacturing). Master's Degree in related curriculummay offset 2 years of experience requirement.

Position Purpose:

Provides direction and strategic oversight to Completions operations (e.g. sheetmetal, cabinet, wood finish, upholstery, avionics) and service personnel to ensure that aircraft are completed within customers requirements and FAA regulations.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Analyzes aircraft final phase jobs to determine required. skills, manpower and materials necessary to accomplish the job.

  2. Plans, schedules, and coordinates work between shops to ensure that all jobs are completed in a manner that will satisfy customer needs, utilize facilities and human resources in the most efficient manner, and achieve aircraft cost targets. .

  3. Ensures application of established corporate financial controls and other policies of the company regarding safety, affirmative action and equal opportunity.

  4. Oversees initiatives encompassing Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement philosophies and concepts. .

  5. Develops and maintains manufacturing operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, production costs, and image.

  6. Provides guidance to the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.

  7. Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.

  8. Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.

  9. Reviews production and operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

Additional Functions:
  1. As required, serves as back-up for director. .

  2. Holds employees accountable for executing operating priorities. .

  3. Participates in the business and department continuous improvement by identifying customer needs and continuously striving to meet those needs. .

  4. Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations. .

  5. Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of shop operations, including storing and retrieving production data for reports. .

  6. Determines responsibility of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives. .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. A&P License with Inspection Authorization desired.

  2. Must have demonstrated: leadership ability; business acumen; initiative; ability to work as a team player; ability to deliver results; ability to make decisions that support company objectives/policies.

  3. Proficient in the use of personal computer e-mail systems.

  4. Proficient in using computerized database management (Excel) and presentation systems (PowerPoint).
