Job Description
- Analyzes aircraft final phase jobs to determine required. skills, manpower and materials necessary to accomplish the job.
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates work between shops to ensure that all jobs are completed in a manner that will satisfy customer needs, utilize facilities and human resources in the most efficient manner, and achieve aircraft cost targets. .
- Ensures application of established corporate financial controls and other policies of the company regarding safety, affirmative action and equal opportunity.
- Oversees initiatives encompassing Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement philosophies and concepts. .
- Develops and maintains manufacturing operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, production costs, and image.
- Provides guidance to the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.
- Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
- Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
- Reviews production and operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- As required, serves as back-up for director. .
- Holds employees accountable for executing operating priorities. .
- Participates in the business and department continuous improvement by identifying customer needs and continuously striving to meet those needs. .
- Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations. .
- Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of shop operations, including storing and retrieving production data for reports. .
- Determines responsibility of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives. .
- A&P License with Inspection Authorization desired.
- Must have demonstrated: leadership ability; business acumen; initiative; ability to work as a team player; ability to deliver results; ability to make decisions that support company objectives/policies.
- Proficient in the use of personal computer e-mail systems.
- Proficient in using computerized database management (Excel) and presentation systems (PowerPoint).
