Overview

This position is located at the Steel Fab Facility in Florence, S.C.

The successful candidate for this position will be able to perform Material Control and Support functions in support of NEWCON work at our Steel Fab facility in Florence, SC.

In addition to material control the manufacturing technician is a multi-disciplined person that must have one or more skills within the trades. Material Handlers will be preferred and considered first. Other Manufacturing Technicians such as Welders, Electricians, Pipefitters, Shipfitters and Outside Machinists, Tool Crib operators, Carpenters, and Sheetmetal workers may be considered at the discretion of the employer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, identify, locate, and retrieve materials.
  • Must possess an energetic and positive attitude and be willing to change and develop as requirements of assigned tasks dictate
  • May be required to physically lift items, up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be prepared to travel and work overtime as required
  • May be required to travel to different EB sites or Shipyards and must be prepared to work any shift that may be required
  • Contribute to site improvement goals in Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule, and Continuous Improvement.
  • This position has potential for cross training in other duty areas, such as handling Hazardous Materials and transportation duties.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • 1+ years of warehouse experience
    • Current forklift operator license or ability to obtain forklift license
    • Must be willing to travel and work overtime as required
    Preferred:

    • Warehousing and/or material handling and support services experience
    • Experience with material ordering and inventory control computer systems
    • An understanding of material documents including receipts, shipping documents, etc. Oracle experience would be desirable
