The senior scientist will be part of the CMC and EBC materials and processing team whose mission is to advance state-of-the-art CMC’s and EBC's and enable CMC technologies. The role will be responsible for executing on technology programs that contribute to the overall CMC and EBC strategy. In this role, you will partner with design and supply chain to develop CMC and EBC technology, performing tasks such as materials development, characterization and ceramic processing.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for CMC and EBC materials and processes technology maturation programs for use in CMC/EBC Aviation products
- Responsible for setting and executing on strategic CMC and EBC roadmaps that support component durability, performance, and cost out
- Responsible for planning and managing engineering budget and resources to execute on CMC and EBC projects
- Partner with Design and Supply Chain to lead CMC and EBC technology maturation programs, support root cause investigations, and other process or material development to support current fielded products like LEAP and GE9X
- Develop next generation of CMC and EBC materials and processes to support future commercial and/or military components
- Support CMC and EBC production issues as needed
- Support data analytics and modeling of manufacturing processes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years (Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science) experience + minimum of 5 years (Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science) experience

- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Knowledge of EBC materials and processing
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
