Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a motivated individual to join the Power/Control Systems (PCS) team as a Manufacturing Engineering Technician in Sykesville, Maryland. In the Mission Systems sector, you’ll join our experts in developing systems and solutions that keep our world safe. The PCS team is a leader in providing Power/Control Systems for naval based customers.
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician:
Develops assembly instructions for product for first-time-builds.
Mentors and trains new and experienced assemblers on newer builds.
Gathers and analyzes defect data to identify defect trends.
Supports program meetings in developing root cause and corrective actions.
Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and implement new processes and process improvements.
Assists engineering in creating designs and/or developing products and processes; Documents drawing errors and suggests improvements.
Develops and constructs experimental and prototype devices, models and systems working from very general information.
Designs, develops, and assembles manufacturing aids such as holding fixtures, jigs, dies, harness boards, etc.
Adheres to established procedures and practices as required to ensure compliance.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to effectively communicate and work with a variety of internal personnel from manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, and design engineering. They should also be self-directed, organized, and team oriented.
Basic Qualifications:
High school graduate or recognized equivalent (GED) and 4+ years of manufacturing experience
Experience using MS Office tools
Experience as a Manufacturing operator or technician
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance
US citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Power Control Systems and Hardware
Experience working on Naval systems
Experience training and/or mentoring other personnel
Tooling development and fabrication experience
Hands-on assembly and fabrication experience
Assembly procedure development experience
Experience with general 3D CAD software
