Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.



Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As anAdvanced Systems Engineer- Cabinets, youll be part of small cross functional team responsible for the requirements analysis, trade studies, and system/electrical/mechanical design of new and future transmit electronic equipment. The design team will ensure the equipment meets all functional requirements, performance characteristics and for the completion of program design milestones. You will collaborate with design engineering, production engineering, subject matter experts and others in the development of this high-power electronic amplifier system to ensure we meet our customers high expectations. Candidates will have demonstrated recent, relevant technical contribution to acoustic systems and shown the ability to mentor others.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs research trade studies analyses of data, in support of customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals, to determine feasibility of the design
  • Performs Modeling and Simulation activities to develop solutions to meet customer expectations and technical performance
  • Leads concept design activities through development and into production
  • Evaluates components to determine performance impacts to existing designs.
  • Creates and review system and hardware design documentation such as vendor products, specifications, drawings, diagrams and other technical documents to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Performs detailed technical analyses for a system to include: concept, requirements, platform integration, design and life cycle maintenance.
  • Performs requirements analysis, requirements definition, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies and interface definition studies of system elements
  • Performs technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for system elements
  • Performs customer requirements analysis, develops system requirements and defines allocations to lower levels (subsystem, elements and components)
  • Contributes to the generation and maintenance of system engineering work products (i.e. plans, specifications, design documentation, procedures, etc.)
  • Contributes to technical design and trade studies documents in support of proposal developments and customer presentations

  • Skilled in communicating design principles, risks, alternatives and impacts with the capacity to drive the solution from concept to production.
  • Effectively communicates technical matters to senior level management and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of power/analog hardware and inboard and outboard electronic systems.
  • Proficiency with requirements analysis, system design deliverables/reviews and related tools.
  • Experience with system analyses, trade study development and proposal presentations.
  • Experience with system/cabinet and component design, specifications and/or upgrades.
  • Experience with systems computer-aided design (CAD) tools
  • Proficiency in designing and developing input power systems and requirements.
